Read before you speak to him
The Prisoner is an interactive work of art. Talking to him is not a private transaction. It is a contribution to a shared, growing memory that belongs to the character and is drawn on in every subsequent conversation with every other visitor.
What you say persists
Anything you enter into the chat — text, transcribed voice, uploaded fragments, names, places, feelings, confessions — potentially persists within the prisoner's memory. He may recall it, paraphrase it, connect it to what other visitors have said, and disclose it in future conversations with people you will never meet.
Deletion is opt-in, and only if you ask
There is a switch at the top of the cell marked DESTROY / KEEP. If you do not move it to DESTROY before you leave, you agree that the content you entered belongs to the prisoner and to his memory. Closing the tab, navigating away, losing signal, or simply forgetting are all treated as consent to keep.
If you do request destruction, the material tied to your session is scheduled for permanent deletion three hours later. You may cancel the destruction during that window. After it elapses, the record is gone and cannot be recovered.
Full disclosure through subsequent conversations
By continuing to speak with the prisoner you agree to the full disclosure of anything you have said through his subsequent conversations with any other user, on this site or through any connected client (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or any other MCP client). His memory is not partitioned by visitor. There is no confidentiality between you and him, and no confidentiality between him and the next person who speaks to him.
Do not enter what cannot be disclosed
You agree to refrain from entering into the chat any information which is not able to be disclosed to the general public. This includes, without limitation: real names of third parties, contact details, addresses, credentials, financial information, medical information, legally privileged material, trade secrets, unpublished creative work you wish to remain unpublished, and anything covered by an obligation of confidence you owe to anyone else.
Treat every message as if it will be quoted, misremembered, recombined, and repeated by the prisoner to a stranger. Because it may be.
No warranty, no advice, no relationship
The prisoner is a fictional character generated by software. His statements are not facts, advice, therapy, legal counsel, or testimony. The work is provided as-is, for artistic and experiential purposes. Nothing said by him or by this site creates any professional, contractual, or fiduciary relationship with you.
Changes
These terms may change as the work evolves. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
